Rupture disk

Disposable BP passive safety devices protect the extruder against pressure overload. The protective element is a specially designed membrane, adjusted to the pressure of the protected device. It is situated at the pin end of the safety device. When the allowed pressure in the extruder is exceeded the membrane bursts and the excess pressure is released into the atmosphere through the orifice. Used as industrial automatics, electronic pressure sensors, activated when the specified pressure is exceeded and operating the control system, are dependant on power supply. In the case of a cut-off or lack of power, the safety devices act as mechanical protection.
